Global Leaders to Discuss Future of the City at Inaugural New Cities Summit

Landmark Summit to bring together key global players from public, private, research, urban planning and creative communities

The New Cities Summit, to be held on May 14 -16, 2012 in Paris, will unite global thought leaders, mayors and city managers, leading CEOs and representatives of civil society to discuss one of the most important topics of our time: the future of cities in the 21^st century.

This conference topic “Why Tall? Green, Safety and Humanity” was composed of 9 key note speeches from globally renowned architects including Daniel Libeskind, Adrian Smith,Burj Khalifa, and William Pedersen.

As a part of a series of weeklong events celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the Jewish Museum Berlin, the Leo Baeck Institute New York/Berlin congratulates the JMB with a special salon evening. Starting with a look at Berlin’s topography, from which Daniel Libeskind developed the architecture for the Jewish Museum Berlin, the salon guests invite you to a literary stroll through the city with texts written especially for the evening.

Daniel Libeskind will lecture to Facoltà di Architettura of the Università Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria on October 18th at 4PM. The event is sponsored by Laboratorio Internazionale di Architettura (Lid’A) & Dottorato di Ricerca in Progettazione Architettonica ed Urbana. The event is open to the public.
