    Daniel Libeskind established his architectural studio in Berlin, Germany in 1989 after winning the competition to build the Jewish Museum in Berlin. In February 2003, Studio Daniel Libeskind moved its headquarters from Berlin to New York City when Daniel Libeskind was selected as the master planner for the World Trade Center redevelopment. 

    Daniel Libeskind’s practice is involved in designing and realizing a diverse array of  urban, cultural and commercial projects internationally. The Studio has a completed buildings that range from museums and concert halls to convention centers, university buildings, hotels, shopping centers and residential towers. In addition to the New York headquarters, Studio Libeskind has European partner offices based in Zürich, Switzerland and Milan, Italy.

    Daniel Libeskind

    Daniel Libeskind, B.Arch. M.A. BDA AIA, is an international architect and designer. Born in Łód´z, Poland in 1946, Libeskind was a virtuoso musician at a young age before giving up music to become an architect. He has received numerous awards and designed world-renowned projects including: the Jewish Museum in Berlin, the Denver Art Museum, the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, the Military History Museum in Dresden, and the masterplan for Ground Zero among others. Daniel Libeskind’s commitment to expanding the scope of architecture reflects his profound interest and involvement in philosophy, art, literature and music. Fundamental to Libeskind’s philosophy is the notion that building are crafted with the perceptible human energy, and that they address the greater cultural context in which they are built. Daniel teaches and lectures at universities across the world. He resides in New York City with his wife and business partner, Nina Libeskind.

    Chief Operating Officer

    Nina Libeskind is the Chief Operating Officer and is a full Partner of Studio Daniel Libeskind. She is responsible for the overall management, financial, administrative and resource control of the Studio. Prior to working with her husband at Studio Daniel Libeskind, she worked in the USA, Canada, and Great Britain in the areas of management, labor negotiations, research and politics.

     
  • Carla Swickerath

    CEO

    Carla Swickerath is Chief Executive Officer as well as a Principal for Studio Daniel Libeskind. She gained her M. Arch. from the University of Michigan in 1999 and worked for Studio Libeskind in Berlin from 1999–2003 and moved with the Studio to New York in 2003. Prior to studying architecture, she received a B.A. in English and a B.A. in the History of Art from the University of Florida.

     
  • Yama Karim

    Yama Karim is a Principal for Studio Daniel Libeskind. He received his M. Arch. from Columbia University in 1995 and a B.A. in Environmental Design from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991. Mr. Karim worked for Studio Daniel Libeskind — Berlin between 1996 and 1998. In 2003 he rejoined the office in New York City.

     
  • Stefan Blach

    Stefan Blach is a Principal for Studio Daniel Libeskind. He received his Diploma in Architecture from the Technische Universität Berlin in 1991. Mr. Blach worked at Studio Daniel Libeskind in Berlin from 1992 to 2003 and moved with the Studio to New York City in 2003.

     
  • Joe Rom

    Joe Rom is an Senior Associate for Studio Daniel Libeskind. He received his M. Arch. from The University of Michigan in 1999 and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan in 1997. Mr. Rom joined the Studio in 2003.

     
  • David Stockwell

    David Stockwell is a Senior Associate for Studio Daniel Libeskind. He received his M. Arch. from Rice University in 2003 and his B.S. Arch. from the University of Michigan in 1997. Mr. Stockwell worked at Studio Daniel Libeskind, Berlin in 1998 and rejoined the Studio upon its move to New York in 2003.

     
  • Jason Jimenez

    Jason Jimenez is a Senior Associate for Studio Daniel Libeskind. He received his M. Arch. from Columbia University in 2000 and a B.S. Arch. from the University of Michigan in 1997. Mr. Jimenez joined Studio Daniel Libeskind in 2004.

     
  • Arnault Biou

    Arnault Biou is a Senior Associate for Studio Daniel Libeskind. He received his Diploma of Architecture at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology ETH Zurich in 1995. Mr. Biou joined the Studio in 2005.

     
  • Seungki Min

    Seungki Min is a Senior Associate for Studio Daniel Libeskind. He received his M. Arch. from Columbia University in 2001 and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Han-Yang University, Seoul in 1997. Mr. Min joined the Studio in 2005.

     
  • Brian Melcher

    Brian Melcher is an Associate at Studio Daniel Libeskind. He received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Pennsylvania State University in 2001 and his Master of Architecture degree from Princeton University in 2004. Mr. Melcher joined Studio Daniel Libeskind in January 2005.

     
  • Jay Kim

    Jay Kim is an Associate for Studio Daniel Libeskind. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of New Mexico in 1998. Mr. Kim joined the studio in 2006.

     
  • Johan van Lierop

    Johan van Lierop is an Associate for Studio Daniel Libeskind. He received his M. Arch. from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands in 2003 and received a B.A. degree in Interior and Product design at the Academy of Visual Arts, Maastricht in 1996. Johan joined the studio in 2006.

     
  • Michael Ashley

    Michael Ashley is an Associate for Studio Daniel Libeskind. He received his Masters in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University in 2006 and received a B.A. Arch. from Andrews University in 1997. Michael joined the studio in 2006.

     
  • Thunyalux Hiransaroj

    Thunyalux Hiransaroj is an Associate for Studio Daniel Libeskind. She received a Masters in Advanced Architectural Design with Honor Award of Excellence in Design from Columbia University in 2000 and received a B.A. Arch. from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand in 1997. She joined the studio in 2006

     

     
  • Ching-Wen Lin

    Ching-Wen Lin, AIA, LEED AP is an Associate for Studio Daniel Libeskind. She received her Master of Architecture from Princeton University in 1993 and a Bachelor of Architecture from Chung Yuan Christian University, Taiwan in 1989. Ms. Lin joined the Studio in 2007.

     
  • Thierry Debaille

    Special Assistant to Daniel Libeskind

    Thierry Debaille is the Special Assistant to Daniel Libeskind and is responsible for all scheduling for Mr. Libeskind and the Studio. Mr. Debaille received his Masters of Public and Environmental Resource Policy from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Mr. Debaille worked at Studio Daniel Libeskind in Berlin from 2001 to 2003 and moved with the Studio to New York City in 2003.
