Project Brief

CABINN Metro hotel which openned in August 2011 is one of the largest hotels in Denmark and a new landmark for Copenhagen. The hotel is located in the north-west corner of Copenhagen’s fast-growing city quarter, Orestad.

The CABINN Metro hotel offers 710 rooms and 1760 beds. It's conveniently located roughly 4-5 kilometers from Copenhagen International Airport Kastrup and within minutes from the Copenhagen city center with metro. It's within walking distance from Scandinavia's largest conference and exhibition venue Bella Center, beside Scandinavia's largest shopping mall FIELD's and boast excellent transport links, including an adjacent Metro station, mainline railway station and motorway to Sweden nearby.

The CabInn Metro building is composed of two intersected volumes, a lower straight one along Arne Jacobsens Alle and a higher curved one along Center Boulevard.  Both volumes are clad with aluminum composite panels. The aluminum cladding forms the canvas for line patterns that extend over the main facades. These patterns are based on Daniel Libeskind’s Chamberworks, a graphic work in which “the ideas of architecture and music intersect in the chamber of the mind."
