Hosted by CTBUH and organized by CTBUH Korea , the CTBUH 2011 World Conference was held on October 10-Ocotber 12th 2011 in the grand ballroom, COEX in Seoul South Korea.

The Council on Tall Buildings & Urban Habitat Conference is an annual based international conference. The Goals of this conference are to exchange the information associated with urban cultures and human lives towards planning, design, construction, management of high-rise building, and to share the technology development among world experts, scholars and researchers. 

The 2011 confrence was the second time ever Korea has hosted the event since 2004, inviting approximately one thousand architects, designers, professors, researchers, construction related personnel and students all in an attempt to share intelligence and knowledge, and to foster the social bonding among them.

This conference topic “Why Tall? Green, Safety and Humanity” was composed of 9 key note speeches from globally renowned architects including Adrian Smith (Burj Khalifa, Kingdom Tower, Daniel Libeskind ( I park), and William Pedersen (Latte Super Tower) and other distinguishable celebrities. 

This conference serves as a platform for all participants to acquire information on such globally spotlighted issues as New Renewable Energy, Cases of Advanced Occupancy, High-Speed Elevators, Progressive Collapse, vertical/ horizontal vibration, Green Building and more.
