    The Jewish Museum Presents A Hanukkah Project: Daniel Libeskind’s Line of Fire from November 19, 2010 through January 30, 2011.

    Libeskind has created a bold and dramatic installation featuring 40 Hanukkah lamps from the Museum’s renowned collection. Focused on the central ritual of Hanukkah – the kindling of flames in commemoration of an ancient victory for religious freedom – Libeskind’s design interprets Hanukkah through an evocative metaphor for the spiritual power of fire.

    Daniel Libeskind to be Awarded 2010 Buber-Rosenzweig Medal

    The Buber-Rosenzweig Medal is an annual prize awarded uninterruptedly since 1968 by the DKR (German Coordinating Council of Societies for Christian-Jewish Cooperation) to individuals, initiatives, or institutions, which have actively contributed to Christian-Jewish understanding. Mr. Libeskind is the first architect to ever receive this honor.
